I May Be Crazy But Hear Me Out

How was your week?

Mine was enlightening. I spent part of it meeting with people who promised they could help us generate more business.

Why did I take the meetings?

Because I wanted to know if I was missing something.

I wasn’t.

Most offered some version of the same solution: more emails, more LinkedIn messages, more automation, more follow-ups, and a little more AI.

No silver bullet.

When Personal Stops Feeling Personal

AI has made it incredibly easy to reach almost anybody. But reaching someone and earning their trust are two very different things.

We can research people in seconds and send messages that appear personal. The problem is that everyone else can do exactly the same thing.

But when someone we know says, “You should meet this person,” we pay attention.

It’s simply easier to trust someone introduced by a person we already trust.

That isn’t new. But in a world filled with automated outreach, I think it’s becoming considerably more valuable.

The People Who Should Be Better Known

There are about 400 of you who have attended or registered for one of our roundtables.

We already have something in common. We’ve been interested enough in many of the same questions to spend time discussing them.

So let me ask you something:

Who is one person you know whose expertise deserves to be better known?

It could be a consultant, coach, author, educator, speaker, advisor, or founder. Someone with years of valuable experience who may be brilliant at what they do, but whose expertise isn’t yet visible or clearly understood.

If someone comes to mind, I would appreciate an introduction.

A Fair Exchange

I don’t want this to be a one-sided request.

For the first 10 introductions, ContentKitchen will provide a complimentary short-form Authority Audit to both you and the person you introduce.

The audit will look at:

  • What each of you wants to be known for

  • Whether that is clear to the market today

  • What authority assets you already have

  • The biggest gap in your positioning

  • The strongest practical next step

Each of you will receive a brief written assessment. No lengthy report, no obligation, and no drawn-out sales presentation.

If ContentKitchen can help, we’ll explain how. If not, you will still receive a clearer picture of what is working, what is missing, and what to do next.

One Simple Introduction

You don’t need to write a recommendation or explain our business.

Simply copy us both on an email and write:

“Jan, I think the two of you should talk.”

That’s enough.

And if the person who came to mind was you, that counts too. Just reply and tell me what you want to become better known for.

The Way Good Relationships Begin

Some of the best business relationships I’ve had didn’t begin with a campaign.

They began with someone saying, “You two should meet.”

Let’s see where a few good introductions can lead.

More soon.

Warmly,

Jan
